Education

(1990) B. S. in Chemistry: Seoul National University, Dept. of Chemistry, Seoul, South Korea
(1992) M.S. in Chemistry: Seoul National University, Dept. of Chemistry, Seoul, South Korea
(1998) Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry with Distinction: Georgetown University, Dept. of Chemistry, Washington, D.C.

Professional Experience

(1998 ~ 2001) Post Doctoral with Prof. Mark S. Gordon at Iowa State University, USA
(2001~ Present) Full Professor of Chemistry, Kyungpook National University, Taegu, South Korea

Research Interests

His research interests focus on the development of computational methodologies for modeling the non-adiabatic dynamics. Recently developed MRSF-TDDFT (Mixed Reference Spin-Flip Time Dependent Density Functional Theory) by our group is an efficient yet accurate method of introducing the multi-reference effects into the density functional calculation of the ground and excited electronic states, making it an ideal method for non-adiabatic dynamics.

Major Research Achievements

o Development of next-generation quantum chemical theory of MRSF-TDDFT
