Research Interests
Development of new drug candidates for sepsis and study of its underlying mechanism: Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory condition resulting from bacterial infections; it has a high mortality rate and limited therapeutic options. After defining new pathophysiological mechanism for sepsis, we are trying to find new drug candidates for sepsis using neutralizing antibodies, peptides, nanoparticles, small molecules, and proteins. Our lab have already been identified a variety of new pathophysiological targets to induce severe vascular inflammatory responses in vitro and in vivo. Using these targets, we have been working on selecting new drug candidates that specifically recognize new target proteins of sepsis.
