o Generation of transgenic plants through metabolic engineering and studies on regulatory network of porphyrin biosynthesis, especially on intracellular signaling involved in metabolic control of plastids and resistance to various abiotic stresses
o Plastid-to-nucleus retrograde signaling through studies on biosynthesis, accumulation, and degradation of porphyrins associated with stress resistance
o The relation of porphyrin biosynthesis to programmed cell death induced by biotic stress
o Role of porphyrin biosynthesis in progression of leaf senescence
