o Land-atmosphere interaction for drought and flood prediction as well as the sustainability of water and agricultural productivity
o Drought assessment by combining process-based hydrological models and remotely sensed data footprints at multiple scales in spatio-temporal domains
o Estimation of water cycle/balance near the land surface based on atmospheric-hydrologic indicators comprised of weather forcings, soil moisture, evapotranspiration, and land surface information
o Determination of irrigation water amounts and schedules based on the degree of agricultural drought for crops
