Abstract

In the area of 3D printing, we have increased interests in the contents authoring, service methods, and related works, in addition to the 3D printing hardware devices and materials. In this paper, we present technologies on the 3D printing contents acquisition, authoring, and service methods. We also show the hard limitations and their out-performing technologies, especially for the new web-based and mobile-based 3D printing programs. The 3D printing contents technologies are actively required according to the increased demands on the various 3D printing requirements. After analyzing the research trends on these application programs and 3D modeling user interface design and development directions, we propose a new user interface scheme for intuitive and efficient user interface scheme.
