Abstract

The use of a tracking method for developing a directional-view display system with directional sound is described. The proposed system allows an individual to experience directional sound in a multi-view display environment. A projection-type display system is used, because a high definition display and large size display screen can be easily realized. We implemented a tracking system with an infrared camera and infrared light emitting diodes to track the viewers' positions. A viewing zone analysis that permits complete separation between neighboring view images to be calculated and experimental results for two observers are presented.
