Abstract

In this paper, a fine carrier recovery algorithm is proposed to maintain the synchronization even in a severe Doppler shift for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems such as digital video broadcasting for handheld (DVB-H), DVB for terrestrial (DVB-T) and DVB-T2. The proposed algorithm estimates the frequency offset by utilizing correlation values in the received OFDM symbols by adding intentional frequency offsets. Its performance is compared with conventional algorithms for the DVB-H system in fading with Doppler.
