Abstract

In this paper, we analyze a hybrid multi-input multi-output (MIMO) transmission system for the selective 3DTV broadcasting system that needs the transmission rate of at least 30 Mbps. The current ATSC system with the transmission rate of 19.39 Mbps cannot support next-generation services of full HD 3D. To increase the transmission rate for next-generation services, we consider the MIMO technology that increases the data rate without increasing bandwidth or power. And we consider different transmission power of each MIMO antenna to improve the performance of receivers. We propose the proper power allocation parameter in the hybrid MIMO system to improve the reception performance of the receiver.
