Abstract

A knowledge-based model for energy consumption management to improve the energy efficiency of Korean apartment complex environments is proposed. This model is capable of controlling energy consumption in accordance with the characteristics of residential buildings. Korean apartment complexes are unique and varied in terms of shape, type, and use. Energy use data must be analyzed according to the residential building type, which can strongly affect the energy consumption pattern. Therefore, this study introduces a knowledge-based model considering both energy and building management profiles. Our proposed model could be used a prominent management method for Korean apartment complex and provides a good reference to build a new energy management services in smart grid environment.
