A study on seamless handover algorithm in the u-TSN environment

Abstract

The u-TSN(Ubiquitous Transportation Service Network) is a system which aims on providing various traffic services through telecommunication among the u-TSN members like vehicles, center, roadside infrastructures. To provide best communication quality, in the u-TSN, it is important for vehicles to handover. This is needed. Because vehicles move on a road and roadside infrastructures have limited transmission range. In the u-TSN, communication between vehicle and roadside infrastructure is working on IEEE 802.11p standard. In this paper, we propose handover algorithm base on IEEE 802.11p standard. Furthermore, message transmission method without message loss due to vehicle moving into another roadside infrastructure transmission range will be proposed.
