Abstract

This study investigated the rejection sensitivity, adult attachment, parent child intimacy of university students. To identi the fctors affecting university students' rejection sensitivity, general characteristics, parent-child intimacy, and adult attachment were used as independent variables. Data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, a t test, Pearson's product moment correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression using IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0. The results showed that the factors affecting rejection sensitivity included grade point average, dating experience, parent-child intimacy, and attachment anxiety. Rejection sensitivity was high in students with a low grade point average, little dating experience, low parent-child intimacy, and high attachment anxiety. These results could be used as baseline data in nursing interventions to reduce rejection sensitivity in university students experiencing difficulties in their interpersonal relationships.
