Abstract
An overview is given on the design of selective and sensitive amperometric detectors for the analysis of nonredox ionic species. The methodology is based on the ion transfer reaction across the polarized liquid/liquid interface. This polarizable liquid/liquid interface can act as ion-selective electrode (ISE) that responds voltammetrically to a transferable ion species across the interface.
