N2 - Many efforts have been made to combine the information technology (IT) and mechatronics in some university, not to mention in industries. For this purpose, we have developed the remote control vibration experiment system for mechatronics education. Any user can access to the computer in the laboratory for the experiment system using a computer at home through Internet and can operate the experiment system and receive the measurement data as a result of experiment in real time. During this process, user can get the visual information from Microsoft window media encoder. The experiment system is composed of module, such as local computer for data acquisition and control, vibration test system, power supply units for the electromagnet, a web camera for real-time motion capture. The vibration test system consists of steel plate for vibration and electromagnet to excite the steel plate with some initial displacement input, a shock damper, a strain gauge to measure the vibration of the steel plate. For this remote vibration system, we used Lab View software developed by National Instrument to make system block diagram and converted it to HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) to facilitate the web-based control and remote experiments. This system is an application of e-learning technology and a useful tool for self-study of mechatronics for the students. Further study for this research, this remote experiment and telemeter technology can be applied to various industrial fields.
