Abstract

Micro-strip line inductors and capacitors for surface acoustic wave (SAW) duplexers are analyzed and experimented in this study. For SAW duplexers, micro-strip line lumped elements must have small impedance values, below several tens of nH and pF, in small area. Flat line, meander line and spiral line inductors and interdigital capacitors on a LiTaO3 piezo-crystal are theoretically analyzed. In order to accurately evaluate small values of the lumped elements, a measurement method with a network analyzer is proposed. Through the experiment, the validity of the theoretical analysis method is confirmed. The analysis method in this paper can be applied to SAW duplexers as well as other microwave devices.
