Abstract

To identify the interventions used in a medical-surgical unit, data were collected from 167 nurses working in 8 hospitals in Korea and analyzed by descriptive statistics. Two hundred and two interventions were selected by Korean nurses and 9 interventions used more than 50% of nurses surveyed. The nursing interventions of Korean nurses were heavily focused on the physiological domain. The identified intervention lists can be used to develop nursing information systems, staff education, competency evaluation, referral networks, certification and licensing exams, and developing educational curriculars for nursing students.
