Abstract

The endoscopic examination of gastrointestinal (GI) tract plays a vital role in the diagnosis of various diseases associated with the GI tract. The endoscopic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and enteroscopy can visualize the entire GI tract depending upon the procedure involved. With the development of an ingestible capsule into the body of the patient, wireless capsule endoscopy has proven itself to be a promising procedure to record the internal images of the GI tract. The endoscopic videos/images contain information about the conditions of the intestinal mucosa, expressed by color, texture, and pattern. The color models are representation involving conversion from basic RGB model to several standard predefined models so as to help further proceeding on image data. In addition, the study of the histogram of various color models aids in the discussion of a model from an application perspective.
