Abstract
In this paper, a new anisotropic meta-surface-based circularly polarized antenna is presented. The polarization of the radiating patch changes from linear to circular using the proposed meta-surface design. The reference antenna is designed on the FR-4 dielectric substrate of thickness of 1.6 mm (and 4.8 mm) to analyze the effects of meta-surface. The proposed meta-surface antenna exhibits impedance bandwidth (S11<–10 dB) of 1.34 GHz (3.24–4.58 GHz), 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth of 1.004 GHz (3.59–4.594 GHz), and a peak gain of 7.83 dBi.
