Abstract

Magnetization and resistance measurements were performed in the system of EuPd2(Ge1-xSix)2 with 0.0≤ x ≤1.0. Measurements have consistently demonstrated that localized magnetic moment state of Eu2+ is stable with antiferromagnetic ordering for 0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0,8 and valence fluctuation state for 0.9 ≤ x ≤ 1.0. Concentration dependence of the Néel and valence transition temperatures are similar to the ones, previously reported in related Eu-based compounds and discussed in conjunction of other external parameters such as high magnetic field and pressure. The research also suggested that the compound with x = 0.85 shows peculiar nature of ground states between localized moment state and valence fluctuation state.
