Abstract

To separate the errors in rotating spindle, multi-step and multi-probe methods have been developed. However, few researches were reported 0n high RPM cases. In this paper, an efficient method to analyze the radial errors of high speed spindle in a miniaturized machine tool is proposed. Different speed cases for the spindle are investigated. Firstly, eccentricity error is removed using coordinate transformation. Later, the roundness and spindle errors are separated based 0n the cut off frequency of a filter used in the present algorithm. The method is effective in determining and analyzing the spindle errors of a high speed miniaturized machine tool.
