Abstract

In this paper, we evaluate the provision of asymmetric service requests in elastic optical networks (EONs) by proposing an ILP (Integer Linear Programming) model. The provision of symmetric and asymmetric service request transmission under symmetric and virtual asymmetric network models, respectively, are evaluated and compared using the proposed ILP model. Numerical results show that the virtual asymmetric network model can fit into the asymmetric feature of service requests better in terms of the capability of successfully serving more service requests.
