Abstract

Many devices use various Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs), and unauthorized users try to disguise as authorized users. To protect against such threats, each WPANs have their own authentication process. Authentication processes can be divided into entity authentication and message authentication. Entity authentication is a counterpart to claim someone and prove that. Message authentication is a process to check the integrity of a message. This paper focuses on Bluetooth, Zigbee and Wi-fi among WPANs, which also have authentication processes. This paper examines each authentication protocol in Bluetooth, Zigbee and Wi-fi.
