Abstract

We investigated the effect of viewing condition on human visual perceivingness of colorfulness and conducted mathematical model for colorfulness by fitting regression curves to LUTCHI data. This model provides the simple and effective predictor for the relative appearance attribute of colorfulness as a function of brightness and saturation, taking into account a range of viewing conditions, hence would produce the method of image reproduction to general display systems and to be easily adapted according to viewing conditions.
