Abstract

The influence of crystallization on the corrosion resistance of bulk metallic glass Fe66.7C7.0Si3.3B 5.5P8.7 Cr2.3Al2.0Mo4.5 fabricated using industrial raw materials has been studied in the solutions of 0.5 M H2SO4 and IN HCl, respectively. It was found that corrosion resistance is strongly dependent on the microstructural change caused by annealing treatment. As-cast rod s comprising fully amorphous phase exhibit higher corrosion resistance than crystallized rods.
