Abstract
An interconnected bidirectional self healing ring (SHR) network with a bidirectional optical cross connect (BOXC) was analyzed. The network provides automatic line protection switching against the transmission failure and automatic retrieval function after the failure recovery. The network also supports dynamic path routing.
