Abstract
An investigation on the desmid flora from Kyongnam area in Korea was carried out from 1990 to 1993. In total 62 taxa of Staurastrum and Staurodesmus were identified. Of these, one variety (St. hantzschii Reinsch var. minutum var. nov.) is new and 33 taxa are recorded for the first time from Korea.
