Abstract
The leaf-mining jewel beetle, Trachys auricollis Saunders, 1873, is a known leaf-miner of Pueraria montana var. lobata and is widely distributed across East Asia, including Japan, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and India. However, this species had not been recorded on the Korean Peninsula until now. During a recent survey of buprestid beetles on Namhaedo Island, South Korea, a significant number of T. auricollis specimens were discovered, marking the first record of this species in Korea. Additionally, diagnostic characters and ecological notes are provided to support species identification.
