Abstract

Dispersion characteristics of dispersive double negative (DNG) metamaterial columns have been numerically investigated. Dispersive dielectric and magnetic constants of the DNG metamaterials are assumed to be identical for simplicity. Two types of distinct guided modes such as core and surface modes are defined and their dispersion relations are found. Several dispersion curves for circularly symmetric and hybrid modes are plotted and the properties of which are discussed.
