Abstract
The correlation between the enthalpy change and mechanical property during structural relaxation of Ni60Zr15Al6HF 7Nb12 bulk metallic glass was investigated by DSC and compressive and hardness tests. Since the atomic mobility increased and excess free volume decreased upon annealing at low temperature, the atomic configurations changed to more stable atomic configuration, resulting in an embrittlement of the annealed sample.
