Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the weight of Protective clothing (PC) and the Self- Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) harness system on balance ability and joint Range of Motion (ROM) and to determine the validation of both test methods. The present experimental procedures comprised of balance tests (functional and postural) and ROM test. Present results indicated that the heavy clothing condition displayed the most decreased balance ability and ROM among conditions. The functional balance and ROM tests shows more statistically significant result, and these test methods are more valid and convenient than postural balance test.
