Abstract

(Figure Presented) Getting on with it: A common problem with hydrophobic non-natural base pairs - the inefficient extension following such a base pair - is reduced by using the methylpyridone scaffold, which simultaneously limits another frequent problem of non-natural bases: mispairs with deoxyadenosine.
