Abstract

This study examines international trends in quantum physics education research and explores implications for the future development of related studies in Korea. We retrieved key publications from the Web of Science Database and analyzed them through bibliometric methods, focusing on primary sources, keywords, authors, and representative works. The results show that most research has centered on advanced undergraduate or graduate learners, with central themes including students’ difficulties, misconceptions, and instructional strategies to improve comprehension. Research on visualization and simulation, computer-based learning, integration with optics and laboratory instruction, and teaching quantum concepts in chemistry also emerged as significant. The Singh research group led the establishment of foundational studies on students’ understanding and misconceptions, while the seminal works of Einstein, Bohm, and Bell remain heavily cited as theoretical cornerstones. These findings highlight key directions and essential implications for advancing quantum physics education research in Korea.
