Fast carrier frequency offset compensation in OFDM systems

Abstract

An algorithm to estimate the integer part of carrier offset with only two symbols for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems was proposed. The algorithm compensated the carrier frequency offset in a reduced time than others when the carrier frequency offset is half the carrier spaces. This algorithm also combined Beek's algorithms used for the estimation of integer and fractional parts. An additional offset was generated after examining the closeness of the frequency offset to the points.
