Abstract

In this paper, we address the problem of tolerating the adverse effects of input faults on the operation of a class of asynchronous sequential machines. Occurring to either the external input or the control input generated by the controller, input faults can cause unauthorized changes of the input value. In the framework of corrective control, we present the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of an appropriate controller that invalidates the effects of input faults, while controlling the considered machine so as to match the stable state behavior of the closed-loop system to a reference model. An illustrative example is provided for demonstrating the proposed control scheme.
