Abstract

The electrochemical response of an ion transfer reaction at a polarised micro liquid liquid interface has been studied by a finite element method. A new penalty method developed for this application has been first validated by comparison with experimental and analytical results obtained for a symmetric micro interface. Then, asymmetric geometries have been studied and the influence on the voltammetric response of parameters such as micro hole depth, interface position within the hole and diffusion coefficient ratio is investigated.
