Abstract

Most of image reconstruction algorithms in ECT use the sensitivity matrix. However, because of the non-linearity and ill-posedness of the ECT problem, the reconstructed image is still insufficient. The use of the weighting matrix in the directional algebraic reconstruction technique could result in the reconstruction of a relatively good image. In this paper, we propose a method to use the modified weighting matrix instead of the sensitivity matrix in the conventional algorithm for ECT. The proposed method can achieve an image reconstruction performance better than that of conventional algorithms. Furthermore, we performed computer simulation of various cases to evaluate the image reconstruction performance of the proposed method.
