Abstract

In this paper, for the body force calculation of permanent magnet and ferromagnetic materials using Maxwell stress tensor method, an implementation of virtual air-gap is proposed. This scheme is simply performed in the post-processing stage. It is shown that the proposed virtual air-gap formulation for Maxwell stress is different from that for the equivalent source methods. For validation, a numerical test is performed.
