Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the influencing factors of partner psychological violence, social support, and prenatal depression on health related quality of life of pregnant women. For this study, questionnaires to assess these factors, which were completed by 238 pregnant women attending prenatal clinics in D and P cities from 2 to 17 September 2016. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. The factors that influence on health related quality of life in pregnant women were partner psychological violence (β=-0.146, p=0.002), education level (β=.152, p=0.001), friends support (β=0.313, p<0.001), significant others support(β=0.167, p=.002) and prenatal depression (β=-393, p<0.001). These variables explained 51% of the variance in health related quality of life. Based on the findings of this study, we suggest a need for the development and implementation of prenatal nursing interventions to enhance health-related quality of life among pregnant women by lowering partner psychological violence and prenatal depression and enhancing the support of friends and partners.
