Abstract

The nature of the turbulence within tropical stratiform clouds observed during the TOGA-COARE IOP is studied using the turbulence velocity processing (TVP) method. The analysis includes the kinematic properties of the wind field, the Reynold stress components, and both vertical profiles and temporal variation of turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) including the TKE budget.
