Abstract

Symmetric and dipolar leaky mode characteristics of Isotropic, homogeneous, and lossless open plasma column waveguides are investigated with several values of normalized plasma frequencies. The leaky mode characteristics are analyzed from normalized complex propagation constants, i.e., normalized phase and leakage constants, which are rigorously obtained by using Davidenko's method. While only TM-like monomode can exist in the guided mode, TM-like leaky and TE-like leaky modes all exist and they have even multimodal characteristics.
