Abstract

Mallomonas koreana sp. nov., a new species of the genus Mallomonas (Synurophyceae), was found in two small reservoirs in Kyungpook province, South Korea. The ultrastructure of the scales, bristles and stomatocysts are described and illustrated with scanning electron micrographs.
