Abstract

This paper proposes a novel mobility management scheme to support the mobility of legacy clients in wireless mesh networks. In order to provide compatibility with the IEEE 802.11s standard, methods for movement detection and new information propagation are implemented using primitives defined in the IEEE 802.11s proxy protocol. We verify that our proposed scheme achieves better throughput performance than the original IEEE 802.11s through a real test-bed.
