Abstract

In this paper, Multi-Crossed Edge Slot with High Mode Patch Antenna is introduced to design a 1-D wide-angle scanning linear array. The proposed element consists of TM21 mode rectangular patch and multi-crossed Edge slot that cutout each side of patch. Experimental results shows that proposed element can obtain 3dB beamwidth(BW) about 147° in horizontal plane. Moreover, an 1× 8 linear phased array with this proposed element shows wide-angle scanning in a range of about ±70° above 3dB Gain fluctuation in Horizontal Plane.
