Abstract
Airy plasmons in a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide are presented, where they can go through negative refraction. We show that the counterbending direction of Airy plasmons can be formed when they propagate through the MIM waveguide. By mainly focusing on the (1+1)-dimensional case of Airy plasmons, numerical estimation of Airy plasmons following negative refraction is given by the use of a rigorous coupled wave analysis technique. We believe that novel photonic devices and phenomena based on Airy plasmons interacting with negative index materials can be developed and applied.
