Abstract

In this paper we address the handover scheme based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for IMS applications and services. The existing SIP handover tends to suffer from the poor handover performance due to larger handover latency. To solve this problem, we propose a fast handover scheme based on network agent. In the proposed scheme, the SIP handover latency could be more reduced by using a new PRE-INVITE method with the help of the network agents. The proposed scheme is analyzed and compared with the existing scheme in the performance perspective.
