Abstract

A new fast addressing waveform is proposed to reduce an addressing time considerably during an address-period The new waveform consist of two-step scan pulse, which can separate the conventional addressing discharge mode into two different discharges modes: a wall charge generation mode and a wall charge accumulation mode. When compared with the conventional address-driving waveform in the single scan ADS driving scheme, the new waveform can reduce the addressing time by about 80 %, thereby achieving about four times improvement in the light-emission time for one TV-field.
