New Two Stage Recovery (TSR) driving method for low cost AC plasma display panel

Abstract

In this paper, a new driving scheme and energy recovery method is proposed to reduce the cost of plasma display panel (PDP). In proposed driving scheme, two electrodes in three-electrode type AC PDP are used and sustain pulse which consist of positive and negative pulse is applied to a scan electrode. In order to realize positive and negative sustain pulse, PDP driving circuit that adopted the TSR (Two Stage Recovery) method is proposed. Proposed driving scheme and energy recovery method can reduce cost for driving circuit.
