Abstract

Here, we present triple sets of wavefront modulation by proposing quarter-waveplate-based GPL (QWP GPL). We demonstrate nine depth-switchable AR imaging functions with a bi-stack condition of the QWP GPL modules. The presented QWP-based GPL module scheme is advantageous for increasing depth-switchable layers without increasing the switchable optic units required. In addition, the AR display optics based on the QWP GPL module can further improve form-factor issues and AR imaging properties.
