Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a noise monitoring system for the health of construction workers using smartphones. The current regulation might fit in the manufacturing industry; however, it is difficult to apply the same regulation to the construction industry. Construction workers tend to move contiguously into a construction field, and work within confined work spaces. As a result, it is not avoidable that a crew shares same work space with a noise maker. It disturbs the communication among crew members and causes accidents. This study, therefore, presents an approach for identifying and monitoring noise level and developing a safety management system to avoid accidents caused by the noise.
