Abstract
The influence of strong electron correlation effects on polarized CuL3 x-ray absorption spectra has been studied using an extended p-d-model and the approximation of an instantaneous perturbation. The structure of vacant one-electron Cus and Cud states beyond the threshold is modelled using a self-consistent field method for the Xα-scattered waves. The calculations are in good agreement with experimental data for La2-xSrxCuO4 and YBa2Cu3O7-δ.
