Abstract

In this paper, the frame synchronization and timing recovery algorithms for the multi-carrier (MC) code-division multiple access (CDMA) system are proposed. For the frame synchronization, a simple subtraction method operating under carrier offset is considered. The subtraction method operates well if the signal to noise ratio (SNR) is greater than 5dB. The proposed timing recovery algorithm utilizes the phase offset between the received and the transmitted reference pilot signals. It operates correctly even under the carrier frequency offset of up to ±0.3Hz, where we considered the carrier frequency distance between two consecutive sub-carriers is 1 Hz, with SNR of 5dB.
